ROADHOUZZ

With the fever of Indian Premier League approaching in few more days, most of the eateries nowadays make sure that they are also ready with the IPL Fever; something like this is also arranged by Roadhouzz too. They have curated a menu specially for IPL and below one can see some of the items that would be available during this whole season of IPL.

Roadhouzz is located in a very location like Southern Avenue; the place is divided into two parts, the enclosed verandah type area which is the cozy place, and the other area is dark with the open bar counter and music playing in the background.

Their menu now is specially curated for the IPL Season and we tried few of the items from this menu. However, the cocktail and the mocktail is from their regular menu.

CHICKEN WINGS IN SWEET & DEVIL SAUCE: As you can see in the picture below, the wings are neatly done in sweet and devil sauce. Sweet and devil in literal terms means the flavour as sweetish and spicy, the meat was soft and this dish was absolute winner.

KOLKATA’S FAVOURITE CRISPY FISH FRY: I would suggest this as a shareable plate by 2-3 people. The fish fry was palate winner for me, mashed bhetki and potato mixed with spices wrapped in big fillet of bhetki fish and then crumb fried. This goes well as starter, also with drinks.

CHICKEN MANDI: Proper rice dish which can be easily shared, comes with 2-3 pieces of chicken and a green chutney. People who prefer light flavours can opt for this one, this was perfect for my taste palate.

CHICKEN ORIENTAL PLATTER: Oh my goodness ! This was way ahead than my expectation; schezwan rice served with huge pieces of chicken, chicken wings and chicken sausages, the flavours were absolutely perfect and overall this is a winner dish, this can be easily shared by two people.

‘THE RUSSIAN’ AND ‘THE OREO SHAKE’:

The Russian is a whiskey based cocktail mixed with red wine, and sweet and sour mix. I kind of liked this, something bitter at start and then little sweet, this drink takes time to settle in our taste buds.

The Oreo Shake is good for people who love chocolate shakes, thick shake with quite distinctive taste of oreo.

Overall, this place deserves to be visited once for sure and then if it suits, one will definitely visit again and again. I hope their brewery starts soon, this summer I will get a good place for craft beers.
