My visit to Jaisalmer Sonar Kella was mesmerising; firstly their decor was just perfect, as the name says ‘Jaisalmer’, their interior and decor were done keeping in mind the theme ‘North India’. The colourful and attractive ornamentation of the whole place was quite eye-catching. This place can easily accommodate more than 100 people at a time, so yes, if you are planning a small get-together then this place is perfect.
Now, coming to my interaction with food, this also went well; their spread was huge and lavish. The name might slightly misguide that this is ‘Vegetarian’ place, but NO, this is a full ‘Non-Vegetarian Place’ which serves North Indian and Chinese Cuisine. All of their items served were almost perfect when it came to taste and presentation was done neatly. They also have the option of sipping into some mocktails, cocktails, and liquors. My personal recommendation from the whole spread would be Pan Fried Chilli Fish, Chicken Malai Kebab, Mutton Biriyani, Mutton Rara Punjabi, and Chicken Butter Masala. The mocktails were refreshing enough too, and the Caramel Custard from the dessert section was perfect for sweet lovers.
WATERMELON MOJITO: A refreshing mocktail to refresh us and help us gulp down all the food. The watermelon wasn’t dominating in this drink, tasted good and presentation on point.
PAN FRIED CHILLI FISH: This won my taste buds, diced pieces of fish pan fried and done neatly in sauces and some veggies. This goes best with chilled beer, weekend sorted to be exact.
MUTTON BIRYANI: Flavoured long grain rice which was light and yummy, tasting this my tummy wants some more. This came with succulent pieces of mutton, one egg and one piece of potato. A complete meal in itself.
MUTTON RAARA : This preparation of mutton is not common to find everywhere, this dish is a combination of mutton pieces with minced mutton gravy.

I loved this dish from the core of my tummy, pair this with bread or any rice and you get one of the best couple of the gastronomic world.
CHICKEN BUTTER MASALA: Very classic dish which never goes wrong and specially when the cuisine is North Indian. This preparation is rich in taste and full of flavours, I tried this butter naan and yes, it tasted very very good. Here the chicken pieces were roasted before and then buttered gravy was poured to do all the rest of the magic.
CARAMEL CUSTARD: Ended on a sweet note with this sweet caramel custard. The sweetness quotient was perfect, not too sweet and I liked it that way.
My maiden visit to this place was satisfying, food spread was appetizing and tummy-filling. I am surely going to visit again soon.
